1652: Vincent writes to the Queen and asks that she prevent a former Catholic who became a Calvinist, from being ordained a Calvinist minister. This letter was also presented to the bishop of Montauban.
1792: "The Year of Liberty and Equality" — the revolutionary District of Fontanay-le-Comte decrees that "the priests of the Congregation of the Mission should be deported."
1870: Now that France is declared a Republic, Fr. Etienne leaves for Brussels and the Internal Seminary is moved to the Berceau. Soldiers, wounded in the Franco-Prussian War are taken to and cared for in the Mother Houses of the Daughters and the Missionaries.
1944: Two Daughters of Charity, who had been distributing food in a neighborhood near Havre, are killed when this area is bombed.
