1875: Opening of the house of Daughters of Charity in Tehran.
1877: The Daughters from the orphanage in Ménilmontant, held in custody forlast few days are released. But the searches were resumed the following day, after a child affirmed existence of an underground communication with the church. The house wasn't abandoned and fifteen women came to replace the Sisters. Two by two, they sought refuge at former companions homes or friends.
1879: The funeral service of Fr Jean Louis Mellier in the church of Saint Teresa in Angers. He died two days before. He was born on November 30, 1813 in the diocese of Orleans where he was a priest being a vicar in Montargis, then in Holy Cross in Orleans and as archpriest in Pithiviers for twenty years before he became a Vincentian. He entered the Congregation in the age of forty-four. After the Internal Seminary, Superior General, Fr Jean Baptiste Etienne appointed him to establish and build the house of the Mission in Angers. For next sixteen years he sowed the Word of God across Anjou and Brittany with admirable eloquence beautifully adapted to various audiences. He was often invited to preach missions in Orleans and Paris recognized as big success. In 1873 he was recalled to Maison-Mere to replace Fr Vicart, who died on October 6, as Assistant and Director General of Daughters of Charity. In addition to his other qualities, confreres had appreciated his talent as a pleasant talker the verve and distinguished charming and being always charitable. The day after the death of superior general, Fr. Etienne, that happened on March 13, 1874, his box containing the note was opened, dated October 17, 1873, in which Fr. Mellier was designated as the Vicar General. He had held this position for six months until the Fr Eugene Boré was elected new Superior General. Following this election Fr Mellier returned to the house, he founded, at rue du Silence Angers, where after working until the end, he died. He died the same day what Father Boré did, but in one year interval.
1935: In the Lebanese village of Aintoura Triduum begun celebrations marking the centenary of the College of St. Joseph, fiftieth of Vincentians arrival to Antura and the silver jubilee of the superior, Fr. Ernest Sarloutte. An impressive number of religious figures, civilians and military officials attended these celebrations. L'Académie française was officially represented by Mr. Georges Lecomte, dressed in green gown.
1946: Istanbul is celebrating the centenary of the Conferences of St. Vincent de Paul, established on March 6, 1846, at the initiative of the future superior general, Eugene Boré, who by then was still secular. The presence of two Vincentian bishops Msgr Marina and Msgr Descuffi, increased solemnity and familiarity of this day.
