1596 In 1596, Vincent receives tonsure from the bishop of Tarbes and so enters the clerical state.
1904 In 1904, for the first time, the feast of St. Vincent de Paul, Universal Patron of Charitable Works, is celebrated. This feast day was approved by the Sacred Congregation of Rites and Pope Pius X.
