1766. Sister Lemaître dies in the royal infirmery in Versaille. She was 15th Superioress General of Daughters of Charity twice in 1748 - 1754 and 1760 - 1763.

1811. In Paris. Napoleon Bonaparte orders Savary, minister of police, to arrest Fr. Dominic Francis Hanon, Vicar General of the Congregation of the Mission. He is detained in Fenestrelle jail, in Piedmont. Hanon is freed on April 14, 1814.

1924. A ministerial circular of October 23, 1923 takes power. This Circular forbids any religious emblems in religious schools across Turkey. In 36 religious school, many of them run by Vincentians and Daughters of Chrity there were ovver 13,000 students.

1928. Pope Pio XI erected the Apostolic Prefecture of the mission in Surajaba on the island of Java. The mission was founded by Vincentians from Holland in 1923. The Prefecture covered territory of some 2,400 square miles with over 1.5 million inhabitants of whom 15,000 were Catholics.
