1670: In the letter dated today, Fr Rene Almeras writes about foundation of the Mission in Lyon and notifies that two local missionary communities join the Congregation: missionaries of St Joseph and missionaries of St. Michael. These communities were active for 25 years before.
1874: During a special meeting in the motherhouse in Paris, a cassette holding the name of new Vicar General is opened. In the letter signed by Fr Etienne dated October 17, 1873 Fr Jean Louis Mellier is designated to this post. Previously he was Director of Daughters of Charity.
1890: Fr Francis Ferdinand Tagliabue dies in Beijing, China, in eighth day of typhoid fever complicated by pneumonia. Born on Novemeber 29, 1882 in diocese of Soissons entered Congregation in 1844. Ordained priest on June 17, 1848. He arrived to China in 1854 and was sent to mission in Mongolia. After this territory separated form China he transferred do Shanghai, where he became Director of Daughters of Charity. Next, between 1859 and 1881 works in the region of Shun-teh-Fu. Superior General, Fr Fiat nominates him an extraordinary commissioner for visitation of all vicariates under Congregation's government. On August 5, 1884, after death of Fr Delaplace, by a decree from Rome he is appointed Apostolic Vicar of Beijing.
1944: In Plaisance, France dies Fr Sabattini, a bombardment victim.
1970: Six postulants of Daughters of Charity form Seminary opened in Mozambique on the feast day of St. Louise de Marillac
