VincentWiki:Community Portal
Together we are building an encyclopedia of information related to the life and times of St. Vincent de Paul and his continuing influence on more than 2 million followers in the 21st century. This project can also serve build a Vincentian Family community.
This particular page is in the early stages of adapting material from the English language Wikipedia Community Portal] page which is the inspiriation for this Vincentian Encyclopedia.
(Please note that Wikipedia and Vincentian Encylopedia are two separate projects whose common element is that they use the same software.)
The Vincentian Encyclopedia Project invites all registered users to collaborate in this unique project!
In his Regina Caeli address of May 8, Pope Benedict XVI said that
- "the media effectively constitute extraordinary resources to promote the solidarity and understanding of the human family." He added that, if well used, these "important instruments of communication can favor reciprocal knowledge and dialogue... [and] contribute to spread peace." He encouraged those who work in the media to "to ensure objectivity, respect for human dignity and attention to the common good in all forms of communication".
