Jesus makes his abode among us. He is the house of prayer and hope for all peoples. And he fulfills God’s promise to David.

David plans to build a house that will be the Lord’s abode. The Lord answers and reminds him of the great things that he has done for him.

But God swears, besides, to set up a dynasty for him. That is to say, the house of the king will last forever. For no one can outdo the Lord in goodness.

But in spite of such goodness, the king’s abode is not at all full of promise. For upon it hangs the judgment, “The sword shall never depart from your house” (2 Sam 12, 10).

And it is the abode of division. On this, it is enough to bring up Amnon, Tamar and Absalom (2 Sam 13; 15-17). So, David’s house does not look good; a divided house will not stand (Mk 3, 25).

The perishable abode will become the lasting.

But the perishable can become lasting by God’s power; he will be steadying presence.

Mary’s abode in Nazareth, a town in Galilee, does not seem to have much future either. For some take it that nothing good comes out of Nazareth, nor a prophet from Galilee (Jn 1, 46; 7, 52). Besides, Mary knows no man.

But God made barren Elizabeth conceive a son. So, too, will he make a virgin give birth to a son. She will name him Jesus. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David; his kingdom will have no end. God’s promise to David will come true in full.

So, Mary will give birth to the God-Man. That is why Jesus will be at once God’s and our abode. For nothing is impossible for God.

There is nothing that God cannot do for us, as only he makes known to us. He will raise the lowly and fill with good things those who are hungry. He will help the weak, the divided, who are in the midst of a pandemic. And the put off due to the worthless shepherds (Zech 11, 16-17). But all trial will work for good for us (Rom 8,28). And we shall conquer due to the love of God in Christ Jesus (Rom 8, 37), though all seems to be headed for disaster (CRCM II:2). God will build the abode, or we shall work in vain.

God will not spare his own Son, but will give him up for us (Rom 8, 31-32). And so, there is nothing that God will not give along with him. He is the abode of hope. And of prayer that enables us to do anything (SV.EN XI:76).

Lord Jesus, make your body be our food and your blood our drink. So fed, we shall reach the eternal abode.

Morada de oración y esperanza para todos

Jesús pone su morada entre nosotros. Él es la casa de oración y de esperanza para todos los pueblos. Y cumple él la promesa de Dios a David.

Propone David construir una casa que sea la morada del Señor. Y le responde el Señor y le recuerda las obras grandes que por él ha hecho.

Pero Dios promete darle, además, una dinastía. Es decir, la casa, la morada, del rey durará por siempre. Pues al Señor no se le puede superar jamás en la bondad.

Pero a pesar de tal bondad, la morada del rey no es nada prometedora. Es que sobre ella se cierne la sentencia: «La espada nunca se apartará de tu casa» (2 Sam 12, 10).

Y es morada de división. De esto, basta con mencionar a Amnón, a Tamar y a Absalón (2 Sam 13; 15-17). Así que la casa de David ofrece pocas posibilidades; una casa dividida no subsistirá (Mc 3, 25).

Se convertirá la morada perecedera en duradera.

Pero por el poder de Dios se puede hacer duradero lo perecedero; él será [presencia constante (Sal 128; Romanos 8,35-39) - FAMVIN NoticiasES presencia estabilizadora].

No parece tampoco que tenga posibilidades la morada de María en Nazaret de Galilea. Pues se nos da a entender que de Nazaret no sale algo bueno, ni de Galilea, profeta (Jn 1, 46; 7, 52). Además, María no conoce varón.

Pero Dios hizo que la estéril Isabel concibiera un hijo. Así también hará que una virgen dé a luz un hijo. Ella le pondrá por nombre Jesús. El Señor Dios le dará el trono de David su padre; su reino no tendrá fin. Sí, se cumplirá de forma plena la promesa del Señor a David.

De María, pues, nacerá, el Dios-Hombre. Es por eso que Jesús será a la vez la morada de Dios y la nuestra. Pues para Dios nada hay imposible.

Nada habrá que no pueda hacer Dios por nosotros, como él solo nos lo da a conocer. Ensalzará a los humildes y colmará de bienes a los con hambre. Nos ayudará a los que estamos en medio de una pandemia, débiles, divididos. Y desconcertados, debido a los pastores inútiles (Zac 11, 16-17). Pero toda prueba nos servirá para el bien (Rom 8, 28). Y venceremos por el amor de Dios en Cristo Jesús (Rom 8, 37), aunque nos parezca que todo está a punto de perecer (RCCM II:2). Dios construirá la morada, que si no, nos cansaremos en vano (Sal 127, 1).

A su Hijo no lo perdonará Dios, sino que lo entregará por nosotros (Rom 8, 31-32). Con él, por lo tanto, se nos darán todas las cosas. Sí, él es la morada de esperanza. Y de oración, por la que seremos capaces de todo (SV.ES XI:778).

Señor Jesús, haz que tu cuerpo sea nuestra comida y tu sangre nuestra bebida. Con este alimento, llegaremos a la morada eterna.
