All Saints
- Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Ps. 116:15)
The celebration of the solemnity of All Saints tells me the apocalyptic vision of the seer John is more than just a vision. It’s for real. There are indeed saints, coming not just from every tribe of the Israelites but also from every nation, race, people and tongue.
And they are made up of those who have died and as well as of those who remain here on earth and are told, “Sing to the Lord, you saints of his” (Ps. 30:5). They are those to whom what they would be has already been revealed as well as those who are God’s children now yet still awaiting their fullest blossoming. But regardless of where they are now and where they are from, on their foreheads has been put the seal of the servants of our God, the seal of blessedness, the seal of poverty, the seal of Jesus.
