1930 Five Daughters of Charity are held captive and during a period of three months are led from garrison to garrison.


1936 Sixteen Daughters of Charity and two postulants who were fleeing the persecution in Spain, arrive in Toulon. Sister Josefa Martinez took refuge in the house of her brother in the village of Alberique (Valencia), and there she was put in prison and executed by a firing squad.
