Marian Wnuk

Marian Wnuk CM, M.A., L.S.T (pronounced: Mar-yan V-nook) was born on November 22, 1961 in W?odowice, in the diocese of Sosnowiec, 60 miles North-East of Kraków, Poland. He enetere Congregation of the Mission in the Province of Poland on September 9, 1980 and started studies for priesthood in Instytut Teologiczny Ksi??y Misjonarzy(ITKM) there. He took his vows on December 8, 1984. Ordained priest on May 24, 1986 by bishop Marian Jaworski of Lviv among 15 other Vincentians.

After ordination he is sent to Vincentian House and parish of Holy Cross in Warsaw to help in the parish ministry and to undertake graduate studies in Art History at Akademia Teologii Katolickiej (ATK) - presently Cardinal Stefan Wyszy?ski University. He graduates in 1991 as Master of Arts in History of Sacral Arts and returns to Vincentian Institute of Theology (ITKM) in Krakow to teach history of arts and renovation. He stays here until 1996. Meanwhile, in February - November 1992 he takes a scholarship in Rome, Italy.

Next, in 1996 - 1998 he is moved to Piacenza, Italy, where he was appointed Director of the seminary for Province of Rome of Congregation of the Mission in Alberoni College. Additionally he teaches Art History in the college and holds position of director of famous Alberoni Art Gallery.

In 1999 and 2000 another scholarship leads him fro research work in Rome. In the Fall of 200 he returns to ITKM in Krakow taking position of Assistant of Superior and again Art History teacher in the Institute. In 2002 appointed superior of Vincentian Mission House in Warsaw, at Radna Street. He also became a chaplain in the Solec nursery house for elderly run by Daughters of Charity ( from Province of Warsaw).

In June 2007 is assigned to the parish of Holy Spirit in Sopot, in archdiocese of Gdansk, as pastor and Superior. Rev. Marian Wnuk died unexpectedly and suddenly on January 28, 2009
