1628: Archbishop of Paris, Jean-François de Gondi, renews Vincent de Paul his credentials as Superior of monastery of Visitation.
1635: Nicolas Pierron is born in Monceaux, in diocese of Sens. In future, he will be fourth Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission.
1641: Louise de Marillac wrote a request to Fr. Rock, cantor of Notre Dame, who was responsible for small schools in Paris and its vicinities for the permission to open free school for poor girls:"in hope that God will be glorified when the poor with nothing to give, are allowed to send their children to schools where rich people can provide this good". The permission was granted on May 29 by Michel Le Masle, advisor to the King in the Councils of State and Private, prior, and Lord of the Roches de Saint-Paul, cantor and canon of the insignia and Metropolitan Church of Paris. Mademoiselle Le Gras was authorized to "teach poor girls only", residing in the Parish of Saint-Laurent in Paris.
1897: First Daughters of Charity arrive on Madagascar. On October 22, 1902 sister Bertrou will be sent there as first Visitatrice.
1920: Beatification of Louise de Marillac in Rome. Fr. François Verdier, Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and Mother Emilie Maurice, Superioress General of Daughters of Charity attend the ceremony. There are also six French cardinals and bishops from about twenty dioceses of France.
