1664: Fr. Nicholas Etienne is massacred on Madagascar. He was admitted to the Congregation by St. Vincent himself in the age of 19. With his right hand handicapped he wasn't expected to become priest. Ordained in 1659. He arrived to Fort Dauphin, Madagascar on September 29, 1663 devoting completely to missionary work.
1819: Fr. Maria Charles Emmanuel Verbert CM, Vicar General of the Congregation of the Mission, dies in Paris. Born on Novemeber 15, 1752 in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, diocese of Lyon. He hold his post since 1817. On November 9, that year he installed Mother House of the community to 95 Rue de Sèvres.
