1796: Vannes, France. At 8 o'clock a.m. St. Pierre René Rogue is being presented at the revolutionary tribunal of Morbihan.
1875: Hôtel-Dieu, Narbonne, France. Sister Buchepot dies. She was Directoress of Daughters of Charity Seminary in 1845 -- 1866.
1907: Quito, El Ecuador. Fr. Jean Claviere dies. First Director of Daughters of Charity in Ecuador and first Visitor of Congregation of the Mission province of Ecuador, born 1830, entered the Community in 1859 at Saint Lazaire. He came to South America together with first group of Daughters of Charity and Lazarists after being invited by President Garcia Moreno to settle in the country. From 1870 to his death he helped establish 22 houses of Daughters of Charity in the country. Some of the houses had to be closed due to sanctions imposed by new government after replacing President Moreno.
1910: Mother House, Paris. Sister Kieffer, the 40th Superioress General of Daughters of Charity died. During her term in office the sad thing happened. Over 300 schools were closed because of the new legislature banning religious communities form running schools. In the same time number of sisters in seminary increased to 390, not including those in other provinces.
