1794. Two Daughters of Charity - Odilia Baumgarten and María Anna Vaillot, imprisoned on January 19, are martyred in St. John's Hospital in Angers. Daughters of Charity were introduced to that hospital in 1640. Bishop of Angers opened inquest toward beatification of both nuns and their companions of tortures on February 24, 1905. Both are beatified by pope John Paul II on February 19, 1984 among other 97 martyrs of French Revolution.
