1617 In 1617, en Chatillon-les-Domes, where Vincent is pastor, the first Confraternity of the Volunteers of Charity is created, having obtained the aprobation of Thomas de Mescatinla Faye, the Vicar of the Archbishop of Lyon. 12 women formed this first group of Volunteers of Charity.
1658 In 1658, St. Louise askes St. Vincent, as Superior General, to declare officially that the Virgen Mary is the Mother of the Company of the Daughters of Charity.
1851 In 1851, in Emmitsburg, Maryland (USA), the Sisters of St. Joseph, founded by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in 1805, take the habit of the Daughters of Charity. There were more than 500 sisters in more than 40 houses at this time.
