Perhaps it is not appropriate to introduce changes in original texts unless the changes are not approved by author or publisher. But for the benefit of all readers I thought these spelling changes are necessary. Original text is translated from Polish to British English. Most of the articles here meet American English standards. Additionally names of towns and places in Poland and Ukraine were changed to commonly used at the moment, especially Ukrainian ones. Towns names used in the original text are based on Polish spelling instead of English transliteration of Ukrainian names. "S.M." initials after the last names of Daughters of Charity are Polish abbreviation of "Siostry Mi?osierdzia" - Filles de la Charite (FC) or Daughters of Charity (DC). Women's religious congregations initials are commonly and widely used in the language of their nationality.
