1656: Letter of Vincent de Paul to Fr. Edmond Jolly, Superior in Rome, requesting him to undertake the necessary steps to obtain from the Pope a brief that contributes to ending the practice of duels, widespread in France, and against whom the Marquis de la Mothe-Fénelon, former Duelist, had begun a movement for more than five years.
1707: In Paris, Cardinal de Noailles signed a decree in which he recognized as diocesan the seminary established at Bons Enfants, and perserved for the establishment a possible change of location.
1883: In Paris, Fr. Alphonse Delanglie is ordained priest. After ordination he became Assistant Director, and from 1884 to 1896 Director of the seminary of Notre-Dame du Pouy. From 1896 to 1903 he was Director of students at Saint Lazare and next from 1903 to 1918 Superior of Notre-Dame du Pouy. In 1919 he was appointed Visitor of Aquitaine and he hold the post until his death. In all these positions, he was the priest who wanted to imitate as much as possible of the Sovereign Pontiff. He died on May 1, 1923 in Notre-Dame du Pouy, in the same place where his priesthood was inaugurated.
